IT ALL BEGAN WITH A TWELVE-YEAR OLD
It all started with Rev. Giddings constantly facing the needs of a twelve-year-old child with her single mother in the Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana.Twelve-year-old Faith Grace Okai did not allow problems confronting her education render her future bleak. She was resilient, consistent and determined to push for support from a single man to keep her in school. Giddings’ thought went beyond supporting or responding to the needs of a kid. She represented the needs and desperation of thousands of Liberian children whose rights to education were denied or deprived by the Liberian civil war.
Giddings interpreted the needs to keep Faith in school as a confirmation to the reason for his return from the United States of America to help his homeland, in turmoil of war and disorder. The vision of establishing a charity organization as a channel to respond to the many needs of Liberian refugees in Ghana and subsequently in Liberia emerged.
L-GM’s mission is to ensure that every Liberian, as well as deserving student from other countries, especially Ghana, are given equal opportunity and access to good and quality education.
Our Vision is to Inspire Hope in the future and love of self and country.
L-GM has grown into an Aid Agency and has extended Educational Assistance to needy Students.
